Cardiff MOT Test

Cardiff based CIVS offer a complete MOT test, repair and retest service for all makes and models of vehicles.

If your MOT has expired you can’t drive your vehicle on the road until it’s passed the test. You could be prosecuted if caught.

The only exception is if you’ve already booked an MOT and are driving your vehicle to the test centre. Call us today on 02920 342 095 to book your MOT test.

MOT testing centres are regulated and licensed by the Department of Transport and VOSA for the purpose. The individual testers carrying out the inspections also have to be trained and certified. The decision to pass or fail each presented vehicle comes down to the discretion of the tester following the Guidelines issued by the VOSA.
The MOT test covers

• Steering (including suspension)
• Brakes
• Tyres and Road Wheels
• Seat Belts
• Body, Structure and General Items
• Exhaust, Fuel and Emissions
• Drivers View of the Road

MOT Failure Repair

If your car fails its MOT test we can offer a repair service on site for your convenience. We may be able to carry out minor repairs (such as light bulbs, wiper blades replacements) immediately depending on the nature of the fault. Alternativley we can book your car in to be returned at a later date for repair.

MOT Retest

If your vehicle fails the MOT test you’ll get a ‘notification of failure’ from us. The failure will be recorded in the secure central MOT database.

If your vehicle is left with us for repair and retested before the end of 10 working days following the day it originally failed, then only a partial retest is needed. There is no fee for this retest.

If your vehicle is removed from our test centre for repair and returned within 10 working days following the day it originally failed, then only a partial retest is needed. In this case a partial retest fee will be charged.

In all other cases, you’ll need to get a full retest and pay the full MOT fee again.
